About the event
This 4 week online course explores Race, Class and Culture and the relationship between these three concepts in the South African context. The first half of the course unpacks the definitional debates about the core concepts. Relatedly, the key
theoretical underpinnings of these concepts are critically considered. The second half of the course considers thematic
areas in which to analyze the theories and concepts covered in the first half of the course. The thematic areas are used
as a window into some of the most pertinent issues confronting South Africa.
